SomoGear Pros:
1. The Airsoft NGAL Laser Clone overall construction is amazing, It feels durable and well built to take on any sort of beating.
2. The SomoGear NGAL overall look is 1 to 1 minus the aluminum construction and screws being blue instead of anodized steel. The aluminum structure is way better in our opinion then the polymer of the original NGAL design and the blue screws are so tiny who cares if they are different. 10 out of 10 looks absolutely amazing. Also changed the stickers as tan and black version cause these new ones look way better.
3. The IR laser is perfect, we expected G&P spec laser but with a side by side comparison the SomoGear NGAL isn’t as strong, however the bloom on the NGAL is way tighter then a G&P Dbal this means in CQB and extremely low light environments the NGAL is way better to use.
4. The ability to adjust the laser is one of the major things we were looking for and for airsoft it works great.
SomoGear Cons:
1. The biggest con is the strobe feature, Although having a strobe feature is nice we just don’t think it’s useful as a primary function. Some of us were talking about it yesterday and we’re not sure if it’s possible but since they are “dead” functions would it be possible to make the strobe it’s own function? Or possibly eliminate the strobe feature completely on future SomoGear NGALs.
2. One thing we wish it had would be an IR Illuminator instead of a white light or atleast an IR filter in the caps kinda like the repro PEQ 15s. Some of us are going to modify the caps by drilling out where the light is and adding an IR filter. Again we arnt sure if it s possible but maybe on future models having an IR Illuminator like the G&P dbal otherswuse having Ir filter caps.
The only 2 things that seems to have complaints have to do with the light being strobe and not having an IR Illuminator or atleast IR filter caps. One thing the the real L3 NGALs have is an adjustable “Cone” Illuminator, the decorative knob that doesn’t move adjusts the “cone” of the Illuminator. We arnt sure how possible it would be to make that a real function but regardless it’s not completely needed for airsoft. All in all the SomoGear NGAL is great and I think eliminating the strobe and adding atleast an IR filter to the cap would definitely make it way better!

About the Mode Selector function section, SomoGear NGAL use the same relief process as the L3 original, but the first generation of NGAL regrets that there is no IR illuminator version, SomoGear will make corresponding upgrades based on market feedback, and hope SomoGear will launch the next generation NGAL that are more in line with the market in the future.
